A Duplex Loft a stones throw from the Seine in the heart of St. Germain des Pres

With 20' high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows and doors, this magnificient duplex loft ebodies the french aesthetic of modern and traditional styles.

The owner of the apartment has a penchant for mixing fabrics, period furniture, Lalanne sculpture, a variety of paintings and collected pieces.

Custom bookcases in faux bois, a chinese red ladder, an art nouveau gueridon, and english upholstered arm chair and a ceramic garden seat cum side table add to the very stylish yet 'un-decorated' feel to this apartment.

All of the woodwork in this loft has been faux painted in a taupe seruse motif. Braquenie fabrics paired with a collection of 19th C paintings, Embroidered Coral Pillows and a tourqoise laquered scrolled sofa table.

The fireplace mantel which is an ever changing nature morte plays up the height with potted cacti, a beautiful bronze bust, bronze leaf andirons, and a double rams head floor bench.

This highly imaginative treatment of the master walk in closet evokes a Moroccan souk, with carved arches, faux tiles, a plethora of color and aisles of neatly outfitted spaces for hanging clothing, special drawers outfitted for almost any accessory, open shelving, mysteriously placed mirrors and cubbies for folded towels and separates.

The ethnic chic continues in the master bathroom with multi colored tiles, faux bois painted cabientry with faux coral door pulls.

In a truely Un-decorated master bedroom, this coziest of rooms, includes a bed whose coverings are usually found antique markets or on exoctic trips abroad, a bamboo bench at the foot of the bed, many personal artworks from the owners grandchildren, ceramic garden seats as side tables, bamboo end tables.

The black laquered Thai wash stand makes a great towel rack adjacent to the bathtub.

As part of the second floor guest suite, this room poses as both a guest room and an office. The walls are done in a trompe l'oeil wool column finish....the day bed is upholstered in found ethnic fabric remnants paired with a raffia covered base. The artwork is a mix of contemporary works mixed with artwork produced by the owners grandchildren.
